The Sun shines on the beach again

Even though the weather is cold and 'wintery' and it took me nearly 2 hours to get to work because of equipment derailment, today is a good day. Looks like my job is going to be interesting after all. Had a great meeting with the big bosses. Got great feedback and am happy about the way things are again.

I made fresh coffee in the morning, and had a grape fruit. Quite the contrast. Had left-overs for lunch with an apple and some Mona Vie for dessert. The dogs were happy too this morning.

I am also enjoying myself playing a stock market game on a site called UPDOWN.

Really confused now!

One thing nice about this current position. I am learning new stuff. I will soon become a Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) administrator to add to my CM tools administrative skill set. I joint a couple of SharePoint User groups on the LinkedIn network and found a plethora of great stuff. I am also becoming a Mercury Quality Center administrator.

This rolling stone will be gathering MOSS.
:-)

Can't figure out, am I happy or mad about this job! I am happy to be adding to my skill set. Mad that the position will probably end with my quitting for a different position soon. I kind of like working in downtown DC.

Storm clouds on this beach?

Job politics really sucks. We have two managers and no workers. I was hired being told that my predecessor was going to another project. In the course of my being trained by him, I asked him where he was going! He got very upset, since he was actually being fired! Then he went to the customer and complained. I was supposed to hire my team as the project progressed. Now we have two managers and no workers!

My life's beach has a storm coming on!

On the other hand there is a silver lining in these clouds --
  • I have met my mate and she is the most wonderful person in the world.
  • My son turned 17 at 4:20 AM this morning.
So, is my life a beach or not? I am confused. I feel like the sun is shining, but the water is cold.
