Life is not a bed of roses anymore. It was for a short while when I thought everything was working out for me. I had 2 loving dogs, a fiancee, a rented room in the house, my career was to be going in the right direction. Now I am just waiting for the next shoe to drop! One dog died, then my fiancee wants to think about things. I do still have my job and it is going okay, and I still have a renter. My one remaining dog still loves me. Dilli abhi dooor hai!

It was during this time that I decided to take on something that would make me forget -- how about running a marathon! Yaay!!! I will be so tired that all my troubles will be forgotten. " Not so fast" said God. Now I am tired AND miserable! Anyway it is for a good cause - AID (Association for India's Development) - a charity that works at the grass roots level in India.

As of yesterday, I have completed 3 runs now of 1.5 miles, 3 miles, 1.5 miles respectively. I will try to make it to the CCRC (Georgetown Running Club) group run tomorrow. They do 4-5 miles. In a group it becomes so much easier - mild competition/group mentality/support whatever you want to call it.

  1. Don't lose heart - it will be ok. Whenever i needed some encouraging, I will go find some running blog, and sure enough there would be someone who is going through the same thing, the same doubts. I even tried tracking my own progress - check it out here:

I need to get back into running - but you can do it - I truly believe you can. Not saying it would be easy - but you can do it.
