Several years ago I set my goal to attempt a new sport every year or renew playing one I had not done in a while. I am either crazy or just determined to keep going.

Learned skiing (that is -- attempted unsuccessfully)
Learned Ice Skating - tore my knee up
Went white-water rafting
Went tubing
Started biking again
Started swimming again
Started hiking
Learned snow-boarding - nearly broke my back
Went snow tubing

Now is the turn of running a marathon.

Next is a triathalon (mini)

I had run a half-marathon in '83. So I am not exactly challenging myself to something new.

I hope all this is not going to make my old age a creaky pain-filled knee-replacement, hip replacement time. Well, even of it does, I will at least have had fun getting there.

  1. Arvind - great going. Don't worry about using up your knees and stuff. I don't know who said it and they said that "too many people die with music still in them" - at least you won't be one of them.

    Use it all up :)
